Amico, an Active Supplier in the OpenMarkets community since 2017, is a Canadian-based manufacturer of a wide-range of medical equipment used in hospitals across the globe.

Let’s take a look at one of their products, the GoLift Patient Lift. Designed to transfer and position patients, the GoLift can be adapted to any existing track and allows for easy installation and service. With a lack of crevices due to smooth edges and round corners, its design addresses infection prevention and control.

With the Amico GoLift Patient Lift, caregivers can safely and easily transport patients weighing up to 700 lbs; they can even combine two GoLift systems if needed to move up to 1000 lbs. The flexibility and ease of use of the GoLift makes it easy for caregivers to optimize their workspace. Weighing in at only 10 lbs itself, the GoLift is the smallest patient lift on the market today. Its small size is both less intrusive and more aesthetically pleasing in patient rooms. Compared to other other lifts on the market that weigh 20-30 lbs, the GoLift relieves stress on maintenance and biomed staff that service the lift.

Amico’s progressive customer service has been demonstrated across the OpenMarkets Community. Earlier this year, Russell Medical Center in Alexandria City, AL, was faced with an unplanned need to replace a patient sling for the Wound Care Center.  This was a high priority request, as the medical center needed a sling to transport patients and had lost their previous one!

After creating a request on the OpenMarkets platform on in early January, the team at Russell was initiated a quote request with Amico. After discussing their needs online on The Exchange, Amico sent two separate quotes for Russell to consider. There was one other supplier quoted, but the purchase order was ultimately awarded to Amico just a few days later.

Founded in 1974, Amico offers products in categories such as beds, carts, diagnostic instruments, stretchers, and patient lifts.

Congrats to both organizations on creating a simple, efficient way to work better together!
