The number of COVID-19 cases in Peru is on the rise. The second wave of the virus has led to an oxygen shortage and according to Health Minister Víctor Zamara, Peru is deficient in  almost 180 tons of oxygen a day. Currently, Peru has had 1,893,334 confirmed cases and 66,471 deaths (source: Ministry of Health of Peru).

Global Ministries is dedicated to finding critical care equipment for countries in need all over the world, especially amid the global COVID-19 Pandemic. Bon Secours Mercy Health, based in Cincinnati, OH, used the OpenMarkets Exchange to find O2 concentrators for care providers across Peru.

Camille Grippon, System Director of Global Ministries at Bon Secours Mercy Health, led the initiative in the OpenMarkets Exchange and was able to secure twenty-five O2 Concentrators through ALCO Sales & Service. In a matter of hours, the concentrators were sent to Americares Foundation in Stamford, CT as the first stop on their way to Peru.
